A broad range of programs are offered to Georgia Institute of Technology student-athletes, top among them being internship opportunities.

The Atlanta-based university's Center for Career Discovery and Development is the primary hub for the institute's internship program, "an academic program designed to complement a student’s formal education with practical work experience," says the student athlete development page on the school's website.

Georgia Tech student-athletes receive opportunities for single-semester internships and "major related" full-time or part-time work that provide them a chance experiences the real world as it applies to their academic studies, the page says.

"Involvement in the GT Internship program requires a commitment of full-time or part-time employment for a minimum of 16 weeks for the fall or spring semesters, or 12 weeks for the summer term," the page says. "Interns typically work for one semester, with the flexibility of participating in multiple internships and, in some cases, have the option working for two consecutive terms (e.g. spring and summer or summer and fall). Full-time work assignments are for a minimum of 35 hours per week, and part-time assignments require at least 20 hours of work per week."

Georgia Tech student athletes interested in an internship opportunity can apply online at the institute's CareerBuzz homepage.

Yellow Jackets student-athletes, who compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference of the NCAA's Division 1, also can access support services at the Arthur B. Edge Jr. Intercollegiate Athletics Center on campus. The Edge Center is home to the Hearn Academic Center, on the third floor of the Edge Center. It provides student-athlete support services.

The Georgia Tech Athletic Association’s Edge Building houses student-athlete support services through the Hearn Academic Center, according to information on the association's website. The center is open daily the first day of classes through the last day of final exams. The Hearn Center, on the third floor of the Edge Athletics Center, is manned by student-athlete academic support services staff, which includes 18 full-time members who assist Yellow Jackets student-athletes.

Georgia Tech student-athletes also can access the approximately 46,000 square-foot Tech Center, which offers Wi-Fi and different activities in a user-centered environment. The center also offers a quiet reading room, study kiosks, presentation resources, cubicles and a computer lab.
