The contest, initially taking place at Fifth Third Stadium, was halted in the 24th minute due to inclement weather, with the score tied at 1-1. The game resumed the following day at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, with Moises Tablante and Luke Brennan scoring key goals for United.

Inter Miami CF II took an early lead in the third minute with Daniel Pinter assisting Mateo Saja. Atlanta United 2 responded swiftly through a counter-press initiated by Cayman Togashi, leading Moises Tablante to find the net and level the score.

The resumed game saw United 2's offensive efforts intensify. Jayden Hibbert's clearance resulted in a near-miss from Tablante. Atlanta later seized control with Ryan Carmichael assisting Luke Brennan's goal in the 39th minute to lead at halftime.

Atlanta continued their offensive dominance in the second half when Tablante added another goal, extending their lead to 3-1. Substitute Javier Armas attempted a bold free-kick from midfield, but his effort was denied by the crossbar.

Inter Miami added a late goal in the 89th minute, with Preston Plambeck converting from a setup by Cristian Ortiz and Diego Rey. Despite Miami's attempts to equalize, Atlanta's defense held firm, securing the victory.
