On April 4, 2025, Atlanta United confirmed the signing of Dominik Chong Qui to the first team. The 17-year-old, originally from Alpharetta, Ga., is the second-youngest player in the club's history to start a match.

Chong Qui’s rise from the Academy to the first team has been rapid. “It's really surreal to realize how fast things come and go," he said. The young player shares that his earliest memory of soccer involves scoring after evading four opponents during a kickers’ session in Suwanee, Ga.

In an interview, Chong Qui was candid about his faith. “I know that God has a plan for me,” he shared, referencing a particular verse, Jeremiah 29:11, for guidance.

Chong Qui stands out amongst his peers, having moved from a "2s contract" to the first team in just under six months. While he idolizes his mother, he is also eagerly looking forward to representing his hometown club. “It means everything to me that I wear the kit,” he emphasized.

When asked about an alternate career, he admitted he would probably be playing basketball. He also credited his mom as his idol due to her strength and positivity.

On March 29, 2025, his milestone as the second youngest to start for Atlanta United placed him alongside names like George Bello and Caleb Wiley. Reflecting on his journey, Chong Qui emphasized the support and recognition he felt after being called up to the USMNT U-18s, feeling "really blessed."

He concluded with advice for the next generation, highlighting the importance of positivity and maintaining high team morale. When speaking about being unique, he mentioned, "I’m left-footed and right-handed. That’s different, I guess."
