Atlanta United 2 has announced the signing of Academy midfielder Ignacio Suarez. Suarez has committed to the team through the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season, with a club option for 2027. He is the team's third Academy player to join the roster for the 2025 season, alongside Dominik Chong Qui and Cooper Sanchez.

Atlanta United Director of Methodology, Javier Perez, stated, “We’re excited for Ignacio to take the next step in his player development path with Atlanta United 2." Perez emphasized the team's focus on recruiting young prospects who can make an early impact and expressed confidence in Suarez's potential development within the team.

At 16 years of age, Suarez joined Atlanta United Academy from Concorde Fire in August 2020. Last season, he was instrumental in the U-15 team's journey to the semifinals of the MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs, achieving 23 goals and 12 assists. Currently, Suarez is participating with the U-16 team at the Generation adidas Cup, an event held at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, featuring 80 teams from 14 countries.

In the ongoing tournament, Suarez's U-16 side secured third place in the Group Stage, highlighted by a victory against Minnesota United FC. The team moves forward to face Club América. Meanwhile, the U-18s won Group G and will take on Inter Milan in the Championship Bracket. Over twenty Generation adidas games will be streamed live on MLS’ YouTube channel.

Suarez, born in Johns Creek, Georgia, holds citizenship in the United States and Venezuela. His career stats and current form suggest promise for his future with Atlanta United 2.

The current Atlanta United 2 roster lists Suarez among the midfielders, featuring players across various positions committed for the 2025 season.
