The Atlanta Falcons are preparing to face the Los Angeles Chargers after a bye week, which they used for recovery and strategy adjustments. The team started the season strong but faced setbacks with losses in their last two games, including a significant defeat against the Denver Broncos. Despite these challenges, the Falcons remain optimistic about their playoff chances.

New additions to the team have played a crucial role in their current standing. As Thanksgiving approaches, members of the editorial team have shared their thoughts on which newcomer they are most thankful for this season.

Tori McElhaney expressed gratitude for quarterback Kirk Cousins, citing his stability and consistency as vital improvements over previous seasons. "After the quarterback purgatory of the last two seasons, it's nice to have some stability and consistency at a position that (let's be honest) hadn't had that since the Matt Ryan days," she stated.

Scott Bair highlighted offensive coordinator Zac Robinson's contributions despite recent struggles in scoring. He noted Robinson's effective play-calling and potential for growth in Atlanta's offense. "I can't wait to see how Atlanta's offense grows and changes as Robinson continues to get reps under his belt," Bair said.

Kelsey Conway acknowledged head coach Raheem Morris as an essential figure in shaping the 2024 Falcons. She emphasized Morris' leadership during challenging times and his role in maintaining playoff hopes. "Safe to say, the Falcons would not be who they are or where they are without the new head coach," Conway remarked.

Lastly, Ashton Edmunds praised wide receiver Darnell Mooney for his impressive performance this season and his positive influence on teammates. Mooney leads with 711 receiving yards and has already surpassed his previous career high in touchdowns. "(Mooney) said, 'What's the date today?' I said, 'I don't know. It's October 23.' He said, 'Wednesday, October 23, 2024. We're never going to get this day again,'" Edmunds quoted Cousins describing Mooney's mindset.

As fans celebrate Thanksgiving, these reflections highlight key players contributing to Atlanta's efforts this season.
