Atlanta United's homestand ended with a loss to New England Revolution in a recent Eastern Conference matchup. Despite starting the homestand strongly, Atlanta United dropped points at home for the second time this season because of a penalty scored by New England's Carles Gil.

The final score read 1-0 in favor of New England, following a fiercely contested match where both teams had several scoring opportunities. In the early minutes, Atlanta's best chances included a series of crosses leading to a Saba Lobjanidze header and a strike by Latte Lath that required a save from New England's goalkeeper Aljaz Ivacic.

Atlanta's Miguel Almirón appeared to score a goal in the 28th minute, delighting the home crowd at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. However, a VAR check nullified the goal due to an offside call on Pedro Amador. This decision also prevented Brooks Lennon from achieving a milestone with an assist that would have made him the club's all-time assist leader.

New England opened the scoring in the 36th minute when Carles Gil converted a penalty kick after being fouled. Gil's goal was his third of New England's four goals this season.

In the second half, Atlanta showed vigor in their pursuit of an equalizer. They had several close chances, including a disallowed goal due to another offside decision. Substitute Jamal Thiaré's header hit the post, and Almirón's volley was saved by Ivacic.

Brad Guzan was a standout performer for Atlanta United, delivering crucial saves to keep his team in the game. The veteran goalkeeper shined with key stops, including a deflected shot in the 23rd minute and a breakaway save in stoppage time.

The match also marked Xande Silva's 50th appearance for Atlanta United. Following the defeat, Atlanta United will face back-to-back road games against Philadelphia Union and Orlando City SC.
