Atlanta United will once again be represented by Paulo Neto in the upcoming 2025 eMLS Cup. The event, a part of Major League Soccer and EA SPORTS FC PRO's eMLS Cup Week 2025, will take place from March 12 to 14 at the Whitney Museum of American Art. This marks Neto's sixth season competing for Atlanta United in this elite competition.
The final match is scheduled for March 14 and coincides with Whitney’s Free Friday Nights. Both events are free to the public, though tickets must be reserved in advance. Fans worldwide can also follow the action via live streams on Twitch or YouTube.
Paulo Neto has a notable track record, having won the eMLS Cup in 2022 and becoming the first professional gamer to secure four eMLS titles. Since joining Atlanta United in 2020, he has accumulated eight titles across various competitions. His achievements include winning the FIFAe Nations Cup with Brazil in 2023.
The tournament will feature 14 teams competing over three days in New York City. The two finalists will advance to the FC Pro World Championship, which offers a prize pool of one million dollars. The eMLS Cup champion will receive $20,000 out of a total prize pool of $50,000.
Neto will face strong competition this year from players like PHzin and Lamps, who have ranked high in global standings and have experience representing other clubs. Additionally, last year's finalist K1John is participating again after switching teams.
Four core programs are set for eMLS Cup Week:
- The eMLS Cup Final on March 14 at the Whitney Museum.
- "GAME ON: Next-Gen Fandom Panel" featuring former NFL star Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson.
- Live performances by Cash Cobain and DJ Silva Sounds.
- Whitney Free Friday Nights offering an immersive cultural experience with gaming activations and art exhibitions.
These events aim to merge sports, gaming, music, and art while showcasing future trends in digital fandom.
