Georgia Tech has announced a new initiative, Tech AI, designed to enhance the real-world impact of artificial intelligence in various sectors including industry and government. This initiative was revealed during the Tech AI Fest, a significant AI event in the Southeast bringing together academics, industry leaders, government officials, and students for collaborative efforts and innovation over three days.

The goal of Tech AI is to connect advanced research with practical applications, promoting progress in areas like energy, healthcare, transportation, supply chains, and national security. "Through Tech AI, Georgia Tech is redefining the pathway from academic research to tangible societal benefits," stated Pascal Van Hentenryck, the director of Tech AI.

Tech AI is grounded in four key areas: applied research, partnerships with industry, AI engineering, and workforce development. This initiative aims to develop responsible AI technologies that are thoroughly tested and also focuses on preparing the next generation of AI experts. Georgia Tech’s existing NSF-funded AI Institutes and its Interdisciplinary Research Institutes play a crucial role, helping to confirm the university's status as a prominent national AI center.
