What a few days it has been for Emmanuel Latte Lath. On Wednesday, he made his first media appearance at a press conference. By Saturday, he had scored two goals in his debut with Atlanta United. By Monday, he was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday presented by Audi for Matchday 1.

Latte Lath is one of three forwards selected for the Team of the Matchday, joining Lionel Messi. He currently leads the league in scoring, tied with six other players who also scored twice during the opening weekend.

The Ivorian player made history as the first Atlanta United player to score two goals in his debut match for the club. According to him, this was also his first time scoring in a debut match throughout his career.

His goals were scored within just over 20 minutes apart, either side of halftime. While Latte Lath enjoys running and scoring goals, he emphasized that his main goal with Atlanta United is to win.

Atlanta United achieved victory as well. Latte Lath's two goals and Edwin Mosquera's goal in the 85th minute secured a 3-2 win over CF Montréal before more than 65,000 fans at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

"I came here with a mission, so I'm really, really happy for the team and happy we finished with three points," said Latte Lath.

If he maintains his energy and tenacity from Saturday's game, more goals are likely. However, Latte Lath has not disclosed how many goals he aims to score this season.

"I've never said it before, so maybe in the end you will know," he stated. "If I hit it, I will tell you. No puedo decir."
