Atlanta United has signed forward Cayman Togashi on a free transfer through the 2025 MLS season, with an option for 2026. Togashi, who most recently played for Sagan Tosu in Japan's top-flight league, was born in the United States and brings a decade of professional experience to his new team. He will join as a domestic player and occupy a supplemental roster spot.

"Cayman is a forward that our scouts have been following over the past few months," said Chris Henderson, Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director. "He’ll join us as a domestic player and brings over 10 years of professional experience from Japan with him. He’s scored goals at every club throughout his career and with the amount of games and competitions that we are in, depth at the forward position is always something we need. We feel that Cayman will fit in nicely with our group of forwards."

The 31-year-old began his career in Japan after moving there from New York City at a young age. Togashi joined Yokohama F. Marinos' youth academy before playing collegiate soccer at Kanto Gakuin University. After graduating in 2015, he signed his first professional contract with Yokohama F. Marinos.

Togashi made his professional debut on September 19, 2015, scoring the game-winner against FC Tokyo in J1 League action. Over the next few seasons, he made 51 appearances and scored ten goals before moving to Machida Zelvia on loan in 2019 where he netted five goals in 30 matches.

In subsequent years, Togashi transferred to V-Varen Nagasaki ahead of the 2020 season and later joined Vegalta Sendai where he had his best scoring season post-relegation with eleven goals and two assists in 37 matches during the following year.

Internationally, Togashi represented Japan at the U-23 level during the prestigious Toulon tournament in 2016 alongside current Atlanta teammate Xande Silva who played for Portugal.
