Falcons elevate Lamar Jackson for final regular-season game against Panthers

Cornerback Lamar Jackson has been elevated from the Atlanta Falcons' practice squad for their Week 18 game against the Carolina Panthers. The team made the announcement on Saturday. The Falcons will host the Panthers at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET, with the game being broadcast on CBS.

This elevation marks Jackson's second time being called up by the Falcons this season. He previously played in their Week 17 matchup against the Washington Commanders, where he participated in two special teams snaps.

Jackson is currently in his fifth NFL season, having entered the league in 2020 with the New York Jets. Over his career, he has played in 24 games and started six times across five different teams. His career statistics include 31 tackles, one tackle for a loss, and four pass breakups.

Throughout the 2024 season, several players have been elevated from the Falcons' practice squad during various weeks:

- Week 1: Wide receiver Chris Blair and cornerback Kevin King

- Week 2: Safety Dane Cruikshank

- Week 3: None

- Week 4: Offensive lineman Matt Hennessy

- Week 5: Inside linebacker Josh Woods and Hennessy

- Week 6: Hennessy and King

- Week 7: Cornerback Natrone Brooks and defensive lineman Demone Harris

- Weeks 8 & 9: Harris and Brooks

- Week 10: Outside linebacker Khalid Kareem and Blair

- Week 11: Cruikshank and Kareem

- Week 12: Bye week (no elevations)

- Week 13: Woods and kicker Riley Patterson

- Weeks 14 &15: Blair (Week14), Woods (Week15)

- Week16 : Wide receiver Dylan Drummond

- Week17 : Offensive tackle Tyrone Wheatley Jr. and Jackson
