Clark Atlanta University’s Chief Information Officer receives recognition for Technology Leadership

Clark Atlanta University’s Chief Information Officer, Charles Cooper, is a corporate finalist for the 2022 Georgia CIO of the Year Orbie Awards, an annual awards program honoring chief information officers who have exemplified excellence and innovation in the technology industry. Mr. Cooper is responsible for the university's strategic vision and execution of information technology.  

“Information Technology equals innovation. It is the foundation of business operations as it provides ways to complete tasks in an automated, fast, and effective fashion”, said Dr. George T. French Jr., Clark Atlanta University President. “IT provides ways to access data in real-time while protecting the integrity of the data. Mr. Cooper has been integral in maintaining the probity of the university’s data through restructuring and transforming our system’s processes. His accomplishments include safeguarding IT systems within the organization to ensure security compliance, implementing a robust risk management /cyber security program to reduce overall risk, and much more. We are extremely proud that he is being recognized for his achievements.
