Clarkston police are investigating allegations of child abuse at Clarkston First Baptist Daycare after the mother of one of the children observed abuse on the daycare's surveillance camera footage, Fox 5 reported.

Officials have confirmed that they have an ongoing investigation, the station said.

The alleged victim's grandmother told police that on July 6, she went to pick up the child and immediately noticed that he was "visibly upset" and "did not seem like himself," the story said.

Later at home, the child’s mother said she observed bruises on his arm that were not there when she dropped him off at the facility earlier that morning.

Family members told authorities they later spoke with the first lady of the church and she told them she did not see anything that was “unacceptable” on the surveillance video, the station reported.

However, in the police report, family members said when they looked at the footage they saw two teachers push the victim down on the classroom mat, pull him off the ground by his hair and slap and punch him multiple times, Fox 5 said.

A responding officer who has watched the surveillance video has corroborated the family’s version of the story, marking the second time a DeKalb County day care has come under investigation in  just a week over child abuse allegations. DeKalb County police say they are investigating child abuse allegations at the Appletree Learning Center & Academy, Fox 5 reported.
