Atlanta native Lance Terry has joined the Georgia Tech basketball program from Gardner-Webb University, where he averaged 14 points in leading the Runnin' Bulldogs to an 18-win season and a league-best 11-5 mark in the Big South Conference.

In a recent release, Terry said he is joining the team as they are closer to home, in a bigger conference and have a style of play that matches his game well.

“We’re excited about Lance joining our program,” Head Coach Josh Pastner said in the release. “I think he is sneaky good and under the radar. He has a chance to be a good addition to our team.”

According to the release, the 6-2, 180-pound guard, who attended The Heritage School in Atlanta and attracted interest from Georgia Tech, DePaul and Georgia State out of high school, has two years of eligibility remaining.

In his last season at Gardner Webb, Terry turned in some of his best performances against the best programs, netting 15 points in back-to-back outings against Arkansas and Duke in November and 14 in a win at Georgia in December, the release states.

Throughout the 2021-22 season, Terry averaged 14.3 points, ranking him second on his team, with 3.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1 steal per game. According to the release, he hit 45.9% of his shots from the floor, 35% from the three-point range and 81.2% from the foul line.
