Georgia Tech has announced that Yellowjackets kicker Jude Kelley has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Specialist of the Week.

Kelley, a freshman who hails from Acworth, earned the accolade after nailing a pair of successful late onside kicks during the Yellowjackets’ comeback attempt against Virginia on Oct. 23, a school-issued press release said.

"For his career, Kelley is now an astounding 5-for-5 on onside kick attempts, including 3-for-3 this season," the release said.

The two other successful onside kicks came against Boston College and Notre Dame.

Kelley’s kicks triggered a Yellowjackets rally that reeled off 13 points in the last four minutes of the contest.

GT, however, fell to the Cavaliers 40-48.

This was the first time in Kelley’s young collegiate career that he earned conference player of the week honors.

Before enrolling at GT, Kelley enjoyed a stellar prep career at Allatoona High School.

According to his Ramblin' Wreck profile, the business administration major was arguably the best high school kicker in the country in 2019, with the Chris Sailer Award to show for it.

He made 76% of his field goal attempts and 100% of his extra-point attempts that same year, helping Allatoona secure a state title game berth.
