Georgia Tech baseball has added five transfers to join the Yellow Jackets for the upcoming season.
Head Coach Danny Hall said in a press release the players would give the team much-needed depth.
"Georgia Tech baseball has officially added five transfers to its roster this summer, further bolstering its roster depth,” Hall said.
Transfer infielder Tim Borden II comes from Louisville where he was named a 2020 freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball at Louisville. He appeared in 39 games with eight starts while at the school and played second base with a .220 average with three doubles and five RBIs last season.
Sophomore infielder Chandler Simpson was named to the Conference USA all-freshman team at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).
Simpson played in all 54 games for the Blazers, with 48 starts at second base and led the team with 24 stolen bases, which was good for 10th-most in program history for a single season. Simpson hit for a .288 average, with 51 hits, 31 runs, two doubles and three triples.
The rest of transfers include Brandon Prince (Georgia Highlands), right-handed pitcher Cole McNamee (Wake Forest) and catcher Jack Rubenstein (Emory).
The Yellow Jackets will host UAB on Oct. 23.
