Seven Georgia Tech faculty members have been named 2024 Fellows by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). The honorees include Chaouki Abdallah, Daniel Goldman, Wilbur Lam, Margaret Kosal, Anant Madabhushi, Juan Rogers, and Krista Walton. They join 471 scientists, engineers, and innovators recognized for their significant contributions to science and society.

Tim Lieuwen, executive vice president for Research at Georgia Tech, commented, “The AAAS Fellowship is among the highest and most respected honors in the scientific community. These celebrated Yellow Jackets reflect the exceptional contributions of our faculty and their sustained commitment to Progress and Service. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and excited about the continued impact of their groundbreaking work.”

The AAAS fellowship is a lifetime honor that requires fellows to adhere to professional ethics and scientific integrity. The newly named fellows join more than 100 Georgia Tech affiliates elected throughout the institution's history.

AAAS, established in 1848, is the world's largest general scientific society. It works to advance science and serve society through various initiatives, including science policy and education.
