Aviation Week’s MRO Americas event, a significant gathering for the aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul industry, returned to Atlanta. This emphasizes Atlanta's standing in the aerospace sector, bolstered by its location and conducive business environment.
The Metro Atlanta Chamber commenced the event with a breakfast meeting, drawing over 100 global attendees. Prominent figures like Dave Holtz from Wheels Up and Glen Burks from Archer Aviation discussed developments in the commercial, private, and air taxi markets. This session allowed local and international participants to engage with Atlanta’s aerospace community.
Stefan Harrigan of the Metro Atlanta Chamber highlighted the region’s growing global influence. "We’re proud to welcome global aerospace leaders and highlight how metro Atlanta is expanding its international presence," he stated.
Atlanta boasts significant aerospace players like Delta Air Lines and Lockheed Martin. The presence of these companies and innovators such as Hermeus and Archer Aviation made Atlanta an ideal location for the MRO Americas, fostering industry collaboration.
Kimberly Allred of the Metro Atlanta Chamber noted the role of educational programs in fostering regional talent. "The Technical College System of Georgia has established programs with companies like Delta TechOps that play a crucial role in building a strong talent pipeline," she said.
Atlanta's aerospace industry is integral to Georgia’s $12.6 billion aerospace sector, which supports over 800 companies. Collaboration among business, education, and government fuels innovation and positions the region as a leader in aerospace.
