Governor Brian P. Kemp has announced that Chris Green will assume the role of president at the Georgia Student Finance Commission (GSFC) following the retirement of Lynne Riley. Green's tenure is set to begin in April, as Riley steps down after informing Governor Kemp of her plans earlier this year.
Governor Kemp expressed his support for Green's appointment, stating, "I'm honored to congratulate Chris as he prepares for this new leadership role at an agency that has opened doors to educational opportunities for generations of Georgians." He further emphasized Green's background in higher education and his anticipation of Green's continued contributions to student success in Georgia.
Kemp also took the opportunity to acknowledge Lynne Riley's service, saying, "Marty, the girls, and I also want to thank Lynne Riley for her many years of service to the state and for all she has done in recent years to help groundbreaking programs like Georgia MATCH be a success." He highlighted her various roles within the state government and expressed well wishes for her future endeavors with family.
Chris Green currently serves as Senior Vice President of External Affairs at GSFC. His experience includes roles such as Director of Government and Community Affairs at Georgia State University and Director of Economic Development for the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. He holds both a Master's degree in Public Administration and a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia.
