It's a quiet period in Atlanta, but the NFL Scouting Combine is about to change that. A group from Atlanta will soon head to Indianapolis for the event, which will include insights from Falcons General Manager Terry Fontenot and Coach Raheem Morris. The pre-combine Mailbox addresses questions related to the combine.

John J. from Twitter/X asked about the schedule for this year's combine and whether general managers and head coaches would speak. Tori McElhaney confirmed that they would address the media on Tuesday before interviews and workouts begin. Additional discussions with Fontenot and Morris will be available on various platforms including the Atlanta Falcons YouTube channel.

The schedule for player workouts includes defensive positions on February 27, defensive backs and tight ends on February 28, quarterbacks, wide receivers, and running backs on March 1, followed by offensive linemen on March 2. These events will be broadcast live on NFL Network.

Sarah M. from New Haven questioned the importance of the combine when similar evaluations occur at pro days. McElhaney explained that while workouts are televised, crucial aspects like medical evaluations happen behind closed doors. These assessments are vital as they provide real-time information essential for team investments in players.

The combine also serves as a networking hub with key personnel across the league gathering in Indianapolis. Conversations at places like St. Elmo's steakhouse can significantly impact team decisions.

Questions can continue to be submitted for future Mailbox installments every Wednesday during the offseason through various channels including Twitter/X.
