The Atlanta Dream has announced the signing of Brionna Jones, a three-time WNBA All-Star. This addition is expected to bolster the team's frontcourt with her experience and skills.

“Brionna is one of the most consistent and dominant players in the world,” said Dan Padover, General Manager of the Dream. He praised her as an ideal fit for the team, emphasizing her ability to impact games in various ways and her winning experience.

Jones was initially drafted by the Connecticut Sun as the eighth overall pick in 2017. Over time, she has established herself as a key player in the league's frontcourt. Her accolades include being named WNBA Most Improved Player in 2021 and WNBA Sixth Player of the Year in 2022. Throughout her career, she has maintained averages of 10.1 points and 4.6 rebounds per game while shooting 56 percent from the field.

Head Coach Karl Smesko expressed enthusiasm about Jones joining the team: "Brionna is a tremendous addition to our team,” he said. “She is an elite player who is very smart, competitive, efficient and has the versatility to impact both ends of the floor."

Jones had a notable collegiate career at the University of Maryland, where she achieved multiple records and helped lead her team to significant victories including three Big Ten championships.

“I’m excited for this new chapter with the Dream,” said Jones about her move to Atlanta. She expressed eagerness to contribute to Atlanta's ambitions at high-level competition.

Established in 2008, The Atlanta Dream represents Georgia as its only WNBA franchise. The team plays home games at Gateway Center Arena @ College Park and boasts a history of success with numerous playoff appearances.
