Governor Brian P. Kemp addressed the Georgia Chamber of Commerce’s annual Eggs and Issues event, outlining his legislative priorities for 2025. Kemp emphasized maintaining Georgia's status as a top state for business and talent, with proposals focusing on workforce development, infrastructure investments, and tort reform.

Kemp highlighted the state's achievements since 2019, including creating over 193,000 jobs and attracting more than $90 billion in private investments. He attributed these successes to partnerships across the state and stressed the importance of continuing this collaborative approach.

The Governor announced plans to introduce the Top State for Talent Act. This initiative aims to align education pathways with high-demand careers, enhance articulation opportunities from high school to postsecondary programs, and incorporate Georgia MATCH into students' graduation plans.

Kemp also discussed ongoing efforts through the Rural Workforce Housing Initiative, which has awarded over $42 million in grants to rural communities for housing development. Additionally, he mentioned new infrastructure investments totaling $1.5 billion aimed at expediting projects and supporting logistics-enabled businesses.

Tort reform emerged as a top priority for Kemp in the upcoming legislative session. He intends to unveil a comprehensive package addressing legal environment concerns impacting economic growth and healthcare needs.

Kemp concluded by urging local chambers to actively participate in advancing these legislative goals during the session. "This is not a partisan issue," he stated. "No matter your party...this issue impacts us all."
