Atlanta United extends Jamal Thiaré's contract through the end of the year

Atlanta United has confirmed the re-signing of forward Jamal Thiaré, extending his contract through 2025 with an option for 2026. This announcement was made on December 12, 2024.

Thiaré's first full season with Atlanta United saw him starting in 18 out of his 33 appearances and scoring eight goals across all competitions in 2024. He participated in 25 MLS regular season games and started all five matches during the team's journey in the Audi 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs. Notably, he scored twice in a match against Chicago on March 31 and again netted two goals in a playoff game against Inter Miami CF.

Since joining Atlanta United in August of 2023, Thiaré has played a total of 40 matches across various competitions. Before his tenure with Atlanta, he spent five seasons at Le Havre AC in France's Ligue 1 and Ligue 2, where he accumulated a record of 31 goals and 18 assists over 129 appearances.

The MLS offseason is ongoing with key dates including End-Of-Year Waivers and Free Agency starting on December 12, followed by Re-Entry Process stages on December 13 and December 19, culminating with the MLS SuperDraft on December 20.

The current roster for Atlanta United as of December includes goalkeepers Josh Cohen, Brad Guzan, Jayden Hibbert; defenders Luis Abram, Pedro Amador, Noah Cobb among others; midfielders such as Jay Fortune and Saba Lobjanidze; and forwards Luke Brennan alongside Jamal Thiaré.
