Atlanta United trades Tyler Wolff rights for allocation money

Atlanta United has announced the acquisition of $50,000 in 2026 General Allocation Money from Real Salt Lake. This transaction is in exchange for the rights to Tyler Wolff, who has now signed a contract with options extending through 2028.

Garth Lagerwey, President and CEO of Atlanta United, expressed his gratitude towards Wolff, stating: “Tyler has been the definition of a professional during his time in Atlanta and made a positive impact in the community since joining our Academy and completing the club’s player pathway to the First Team. We want to thank Tyler for his contributions to the club and wish him the best of luck in his future.”

Wolff's journey with Atlanta United began when he joined their academy before the 2019-20 season. He became a Homegrown Player on July 2, 2020. The midfielder debuted in Major League Soccer (MLS) on September 2, 2020, against Inter Miami CF. Over five seasons, Wolff made 57 appearances across MLS regular season and postseason play, scoring six goals and providing two assists. In 2024 alone, he started six out of 19 MLS matches and scored one goal.

The MLS offseason kicked off today with a half-day trade window closing at 1:00 p.m., followed by several key events such as the Expansion Draft on December 11. End-Of-Year Waivers and Free Agency begin on December 12. The Re-Entry Process Stage 1 occurs on December 13 and Stage 2 on December 19. The MLS SuperDraft is scheduled for December 20.
