The Atlanta Falcons faced a 42-21 defeat against the Minnesota Vikings during their Week 14 game at U.S. Bank Stadium, with an attendance of 67,008 fans. This marked the second-highest attendance in the stadium's history.
In terms of performance, Falcons' linebacker Kaden Elliss, along with Eddie Goldman, Matthew Judon, and Arnold Ebiketie each secured a sack against Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold. The Falcons have achieved nine sacks over their last two games compared to ten in their first eleven games. Wide receiver Darnell Mooney had a notable game with 142 receiving yards, marking his career high and placing him second in the NFL for receptions of at least 20 yards this season.
Running back Bijan Robinson gained 101 yards from scrimmage, achieving his ninth game this season with at least 100 yards from scrimmage. Kaden Elliss also reached double digits in tackles for the seventh time this season.
On the opposing side, the Vikings scored over 40 points for the first time under head coach Kevin O'Connell since he took charge in 2022. This was also the most points conceded by the Falcons this season.
Raheem Morris addressed questions about substituting quarterback Kirk Cousins: "Not today. I wanted (Kirk Cousins) to go finish his deal out here in Minnesota (and) be able to play the game like he wanted to play."
Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins commented on their offensive performance: "The game is always about points, and so you have to come away with points more than yards."
Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell expressed his appreciation for Cousins postgame: "I just told him I'm so thankful for our time I had coaching him as a position coach and then obviously as the head coach when I got here coming up on three years ago."
Looking ahead, the Falcons will face off against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 15 at Allegiant Stadium. The Raiders recently lost to the Buccaneers and are currently holding a record of 2-11.
