The Atlanta Falcons have launched a new weekly series in collaboration with Truist, aiming to introduce fans to the limited partners of the franchise. Over the course of 11 weeks, AtlantaFalcons.com will feature Q&A sessions with each of the 11 limited partners. These interviews will provide insights into their business acumen, favorite memories with the Falcons, and more.

This week's spotlight is on Ron Canakaris. Canakaris began his career at Montag & Caldwell in 1972 as a portfolio manager and research analyst. Although now retired, he continues to serve as a senior advisor to the investment team. His professional journey spans over five decades and includes roles in research analysis, portfolio management, and executive leadership.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Canakaris is actively involved in various organizations. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta and chairs the Annunciation Cathedral Endowment Foundation for the Greek Orthodox Church. He also co-founded the Ronald and Vicki Canakaris Family Foundation with his wife in 2004.

Canakaris holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Florida, where he also played defensive middle guard for the Gators.

When asked about becoming a limited partner with the Falcons, Canakaris expressed his passion for football: "I love football and I love the Falcons... my becoming a limited partner was a dream come true."

Reflecting on his career achievements, he noted pride in being chosen as an investment manager for an endowment fund created by his college professor: "To me, that was the ultimate recognition of any capabilities I may have earned during the early years of my career."

His philanthropic interests focus on education and sports: "Education is key to achieving the American Dream... Currently, Vicki and I are financing...a soccer stadium at our Greek Orthodox Cathedral Annunciation Day School."

He shared some valuable business advice he received: "Always do the right thing and never compromise your ethics... Also, a disciplined, high work ethic will always win..."

Canakaris named Dave Atkinson as his biggest influence: "Dave is...the best investor I've ever known..."

Lastly, he revealed Matt Ryan as his favorite player: "Matt was the ultimate team player...had high character and was a winner."
