The Atlanta Falcons have parted ways with offensive lineman Matt Hennessy, as announced by the team on Thursday. Hennessy joined the 53-man roster on October 15 after being elevated from the practice squad for three games, which is the maximum allowed.

During his time on the active roster, Hennessy was elevated for Weeks 4 to 6 but did not participate in any live snaps. However, after his official signing to the active roster, he contributed in Weeks 7 through 10, recording a total of 12 offensive snaps and 18 special teams snaps.

All of Hennessy's offensive plays this season occurred during Week 7 against the Seattle Seahawks. In that game, Atlanta managed to rush for 155 yards and pass for an additional 214 yards. His involvement in special teams was spread across four games.

Hennessy was initially drafted by the Falcons in the third round in 2020. Over his career with Atlanta, he played in a total of 41 games and started in 22 of them between the years of 2020 and 2022.

As of now, there has been no announcement regarding a corresponding move by the Falcons.
