With a 27-21 victory on Sunday, the Atlanta Falcons have improved their record to 6-3 for the first time since the 2016 season. The team has won five of its last six games, establishing itself as a leader in the NFC South and a contender in the conference.

The NFL is seeing an unusual distribution this season. There are currently 11 teams with six or more wins and nine teams with two or fewer wins after nine weeks. For comparison, there were only six teams with at least six wins after Week 9 of the previous season. In 2022, only five teams had fewer than two wins through nine weeks. The last occurrence of 11 teams having at least six wins by Week 9 was during the 1986 season.
