Atlanta Falcons running back Tyler Allgeier achieved a significant milestone during the team's 38-20 win over the Carolina Panthers. Allgeier rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries, marking the third-best performance of his career. More notably, he surpassed 2,000 career rushing yards in his 39th NFL game, tying with Michael Vick for the third-fewest games needed by a Falcons player to reach this mark.

Michael Vick reached 2,030 rushing yards in his 39th game and went on to gain a total of 3,859 rushing yards with Atlanta from 2001 to 2006. He ended his career with an impressive total of 6,109 rushing yards and holds the all-time NFL record for average yards per carry at seven.

Allgeier's accomplishment adds to his previous achievements as he broke William Andrews' franchise record for most rushing yards by a Falcons rookie during the 2022 season with a total of 1,035 yards. Raheem Morris, head coach of the Falcons and former defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams, recalled facing Allgeier during his rookie season: "Tyler was a pain in my neck his rookie season," Morris said. "Being a defensive coordinator against him (and) trying to figure out who he was."

William Andrews remains one of the greatest players in Falcons history, having gained over 1,000 scrimmage yards in each of his first five seasons. Despite injuries that shortened his career, Andrews amassed a total of 8,633 yards in six seasons and still holds the fastest pace for reaching 2,000 rushing yards at just 28 games.

Gerald Riggs ranks second on this list by reaching the milestone in his 36th game. Now tied with Vick at third place is Allgeier who has become known among fans for his reliability and work ethic.

In Sunday's game against Carolina, it was another straightforward run that secured Allgeier's spot in team history—a fitting achievement for someone who has quickly earned respect both on and off-field.
