ATLANTA – State Representative Carl Gilliard (D-Savannah), chair of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus, will host a book and documentary release event for his new book and documentary film.

The documentary film "is a documentary film regarding the successful repeal of the Georgia citizen arrest law. It also documents the stories of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery." The book, on the other hand, is described as a combination of civics, politics, and spirituality.

The event, scheduled for Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 4 p.m., will take place at the Savannah Cultural Arts Center. The event is free and open to the public and will include a pre-show at 4 p.m., followed by the film screening and a Q&A session. Interested individuals are encouraged to RSVP by calling 912-436-5325.

Representative Carl Gilliard will be the host of the event, which aims to shed light on important societal issues and engage the community in discussions surrounding these topics.
