House Speaker Jon Burns and House Majority Leader Chuck Efstration have commended House Speaker Pro Tempore Jan Jones for her ongoing dedication to serving the people of Georgia. Speaker Burns expressed his gratitude for Jones' decision to continue serving, stating, "She has the full weight and support of myself and the caucus, and I know she will continue delivering results for her constituents." Jones, in turn, thanked Speaker Burns and the House leadership for their support, emphasizing her commitment to representing the residents of House District 47.

Leader Efstration also praised Jones, noting, "Her decision to continue her service is a testament to her commitment to our state’s prosperity and well-being." Jones, known for spearheading the establishment of the City of Milton and being dubbed the "Mother of Milton," has a long history of advocating for her constituents and promoting economic opportunities through improved education and government accessibility.

Jones, the first female to serve as House Speaker Pro Tempore, has been a prominent figure in Georgia politics since her election in 2003. She serves House District 47 in northwest Fulton, encompassing Milton, Mountain Park, Roswell, Alpharetta, and South Cherokee. In her own words, Jones affirmed her dedication to her constituents, stating, "I commit to vigorously fighting any legislation that would compromise the reasons residents call House District 47 home."

As Jones continues to champion the interests of her district and the state as a whole, her colleagues in the House leadership stand by her side, recognizing her unwavering commitment to the people of Georgia.
