WASHINGTONCongresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05) issued the following statement after voting no on the FY 2024 National Defense Authorization Act.

Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05) said:

“Extreme MAGA Republicans are using the 2024 Fiscal Year National Defense Authorization Act to advance their out-of-touch agenda. Steps toward a national abortion ban, an attack on the rights of LGBTQ+ servicemembers and harmful book bans, all in an attempt to jam right-wing ideologies down our throats. That’s why once again, my conscience would not allow me to vote for a deeply flawed NDAA. We deserve an NDAA that puts people over politics, protects Americans, reins in excessive defense spending, and supports servicemembers and their families.”
