GA US HOUSE DISTRICT 5: Congresswoman Nikema Williams Statement on the Passing Madeleine Albright, First Woman to Serve as Secretary of State

Meeting 08

GA US House District 5 issued the following announcement on Mar. 23.

Today, Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05) issued the following statement after the passing of the 64th United States Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright:

“Madeline Albright was an inspiration to little girls and women everywhere. Secretary Albright was an exceptional public servant who rallied the world behind our democratic values, and her lived experience as a refugee grounded her diplomacy in uplifting all people. As the first woman Secretary of State, Secretary Albright was often the only woman in the room–a situation I still find myself in–and I am thankful for her leadership in breaking barriers. I will build on her legacy by continuing to defend the rights of everyone, especially those most marginalized. My prayers are with Secretary Albright's family, friends and loved ones.”
