Matt Ryan appears poised to remain in Atlanta.
Ryan and the Falcons have reworked his deal to free up money for the Falcons to make additional moves in free agency or the draft, according to a March 10 report by CBS Sports.
Brad Spielberger, Pro Football Focus salary cap analyst, tweeted Friday, stating “Ryan is owed a $7.5 million roster bonus on March 19 and has a $16.25 million salary for 2022.”
The quarterback has a nearly $48.7 million cap hit for 2022 which was one of the biggest in the NFL heading into the season, Spielberger added.
While the Falcons appear to want to keep Ryan as their signal caller, head coach Arthur Smith and general manager Terry Fontenot have not ruled out a possible trade, if a team makes an offer “(they) can’t refuse,” CBS Sports reported.
