The 2022 NCAA Football Champions will be honored with a parade this weekend at the university in Athens.

"All tickets are complimentary and will be available to season ticket holders and UGA students Tuesday through Thursday through an online request form," athletics officials said in a Fox 5 Atlanta report.

After that time window closes, the general public will be able to get the remaining tickets.

The campus will be open to visitors starting at 7 a.m. on Jan. 15, with Sanford Stadium gates opening at noon.

The parade will start at 12:30 p.m. and proceed down Lumpkin Street. A Dawg Walk will follow at 1 p.m., with the formal celebration to come afterward.

The parade is in recognition of Georgia’s win over Southeast Conference rival and perennial favorite Alabama. The championship game was held in Indianapolis.

In a close first half, the Crimson Tide took a 9-6 lead into the half. Neither team made it into the end zone in the first 30 minutes.

The Dawgs scored a third-quarter touchdown, putting together a fast-moving 80-yard drive to take the lead.

But it was a strong fourth quarter, where Georgia outscored Alabama 20-9, that sealed the victory.

The 33-18 win gave Georgie its first football title in 41 years.
