The Atlanta Hawks confirmed plans to opt forward De’Andre Hunter out of their lineup after he suffered a wrist injury that may require surgery.
“Hunter is expected to return in approximately eight weeks," team officials said on NBA.com.
Hunter was injured on Nov. 8 during a game against Golden State.
He was then taken to Emory Sports Medicine Complex, where he received an MRI revealing the complexity of the damage, NBA.com reported. Surgery is set to be performed by Dr. Steven Smith in Los Angeles.
