Georgia Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Atlanta recently announced that it will allow patients to pay for cosmetic services using cryptocurrency, according to a press release.

Wozinga reported that Georgia Plastic & Amachi MedSpa will now accept crypto payments from patients using approved crypto wallets, including Blockchain.com, BRD, Metamask, BitPay and more. With over 100 million crypto wallets in use globally, patients will use their preferred native wallet and pay for purchases using Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Dogecoin (DOGE) and other forms of cryptocurrency.

"Over the last few years, we've seen how much power cryptocurrency has and we expect this to continue to grow," plastic surgeon Dr. Stanley Okoro said in the press release. "We have a diverse patient population that resides around the world. We are excited to offer this new method of payment to meet their needs and continue to trailblazer innovation in patient care in the aesthetic industry."

According to the press release, Americans spent more than $9 billion on beauty enhancement amid the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

Established in 2010, Georgia Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery offers surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures, including facial rejuvenation, body contouring, breast enhancement, liposuction and more.

The company's AmaChi MedSpa offers non-surgical and anti-aging procedures, including cellulite reduction and laser hair removal.
