Atlanta United midfielder Tristan Muyumba is set to be sidelined for three weeks due to injuries sustained in a recent match against FC Cincinnati. The club announced that Muyumba suffered a right calf strain and a right lateral collateral ligament (LCL) sprain during the game. Despite being stretchered off in the 41st minute, there is optimism about his recovery timeline.

The injury occurred after Muyumba executed a slide tackle, resulting in an awkward knee bend as he stood up. He remained on the pitch for several minutes and required assistance to leave the field.

Muyumba's absence comes at a challenging time, as he had been delivering strong performances, particularly against New York Red Bulls and Inter Miami. In these matches, he filled in for Mateusz Klich and led the team with a 92.6 percent pass completion rate from 163 attempts over five games.

Additionally, Muyumba was proving effective as a chance creator, ranking second in MLS with 0.59 expected goal assists per 90 minutes this season. His contributions as a defensive midfielder have been significant for Atlanta United.

In light of Muyumba's injury, Will Reilly's performance against FC Cincinnati provides some reassurance. Reilly played the entire match and received commendation from head coach Ronny Deila, indicating that he will help fill the gap left by Muyumba's absence.
