FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons are set to face the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football in Week 3 of the 2024 NFL season. This game marks the Falcons' second consecutive appearance on national television.

The matchup against the reigning Super Bowl champions will be challenging. Falcons head coach Raheem Morris emphasized the need for special attention to be paid to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce, referring to them as "aliens."

"You're talking about a bunch of elite guys and players that play at a very high level, at every level they've been at," Morris said Wednesday. "Then, there's those guys that get that alien-type status."

Both teams are coming off narrow victories in Week 2; the Falcons defeated the Philadelphia Eagles by one point, while the Chiefs secured a one-point win against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Since Atlanta's last appearance on Sunday night in 2019, Kansas City has participated in 14 such games, achieving a record of 9-5. They had a six-game winning streak before losing their most recent Sunday night game last season.

Last week saw many experts predicting an Atlanta loss, with only one picking them to win. This week appears similar as many favor Kansas City. For more complete picks, visit ESPN, CBS Sports, Sports Illustrated, The Athletic and NFL.com.
