Atlanta United is set to host Nashville SC for Latin Heritage Night at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Saturday, September 14. The match will kick off at 7:30 pm and will be followed by a game between the Unified teams of both clubs.

The home team, Atlanta United, will don their 17s' Kit for the occasion. They are coming off a 1-0 victory over Charlotte FC, thanks to a long-range goal from Homegrown player Jay Fortune. This win earned Fortune a spot on the MLS Team of the Matchday. Atlanta had a week off due to the international call-up window, allowing newcomer Alexey Miranchuk more time to integrate with his teammates.

Currently sitting in 10th place in the Eastern Conference with 31 points, Atlanta United is striving to secure and maintain a playoff spot with seven matches remaining in the regular season. They trail Toronto and D.C., who hold eighth and ninth places respectively, but have a game in hand over both.

Nashville SC occupies last place in the Eastern Conference but is only five points behind Atlanta. Their recent form includes a 3-0 loss to Orlando City on the road, contributing to their away record of 2-8-3.

The rivalry between Atlanta and Nashville is well-documented. "There’s always more on the line when it's a rivalry game," said Dax McCarty before their previous encounter at GEODIS Park earlier this season. The two teams have faced each other multiple times, with Atlanta holding a record of 3-4-4 against Nashville. Their last meeting ended in a draw after Bartosz Slisz scored his first career MLS goal for Atlanta.

Key players to watch include Pedro Amador for Atlanta United and Hany Mukhtar for Nashville SC. Amador has made significant contributions since joining Atlanta in July, particularly noted for his defensive efforts against Charlotte FC where he made five tackles and five interceptions. Mukhtar has been instrumental for Nashville with five goals this season and has consistently troubled Atlanta's defense in past encounters.

Fans attending the match can expect various activities celebrating Latin Heritage Night and Special Olympics Unified events.
