Atlanta United 2 concludes its three-match road trip on Friday night with a visit to Icahn Stadium to face NYCFC II on September 6. The match is scheduled to kick off at 5:00 p.m. ET and will be streamed on MLSNEXTPro.com. Fans can also tune in to the Soccer Down Here audio stream.

NYCFC II enters the match sitting in fourth place in the MLS NEXT Pro Eastern Conference standings with 40 points, holding a record of 10-5-7. Atlanta’s defense faces a significant challenge as NYCFC II boasts a +15 goal differential, the second-best in all of MLS NEXT Pro, led by Taylor Calheira who has scored 13 goals. Additionally, with New York City FC on break due to the international window, there is potential for some First Team players to join NYCFC II for this match.

ATL UTD 2 is coming off a thrilling 4-3 road victory over independent club Chattanooga FC on September 1. Atlanta scored first when Javier Armas forced a turnover outside Chattanooga’s 18-yard box and passed to Alan Carleton for a smooth finish in the 12th minute. Chattanooga responded with two goals before halftime. Just three minutes after the break, Armas converted a penalty kick. Chattanooga regained the lead in the 63rd minute on a counterattack opportunity. Seventeen-year-old Ashton Gordon put Atlanta back in front in the 87th minute after receiving a pinpoint pass from Carleton and finishing with his left foot. In stoppage time, Chattanooga received three red cards following a scuffle between the teams. After play resumed, Ronald Hernández carried the ball upfield and crossed it to Karim Tmimi, who scored in the 99th minute to secure Atlanta's victory.

Atlanta United 2 holds an all-time record of 1-1-1 (W-L-D) against NYCFC II. Their last matchup ended in a goalless draw at Fifth Third Stadium on May 3, with Atlanta securing an extra point by winning the shootout 4-2. Atlanta United’s Josh Cohen made five saves during regulation and two saves in the penalty shootout.
