Atlanta United 2 begins a three-match road trip on Wednesday night when it travels to Truist Point Stadium to take on independent club Carolina Core FC on August 28. Orlando found the back of the net three times in the first half from three different goal scorers, making a second-half comeback for Atlanta an uphill battle. Shortly after the halftime break, Orlando City B bagged another goal from Shakur Mohammed to make it 4-0. Atlanta United 2 scored its lone goal of the evening in the 69th minute after Matías Gallardo whipped in a corner kick to the center of the box for Noble Okello to head down to the bottom left corner just past the reach of Orlando’s keeper.

Atlanta United 2 holds a 1-1-0 (W-L-D) all-time record against Carolina Core FC. The last matchup between the two sides ended in a 2-1 victory for Carolina at Fifth Third Stadium on May 8. Noble Okello scored the lone goal for ATL UTD 2.
