Atlanta United falls to CF Montréal after Gregersen's red card

Atlanta United faced CF Montréal on July 13, 2024, with the following starting lineup: Brad Guzan (C), Ronald Hernández, Noah Cobb, Derrick Williams, Stian Gregersen, Brooks Lennon, Bartosz Slisz, Tristan Muyumba (substituted by Dax McCarty at the 78th minute), Xande Silva (substituted by Jay Fortune at the 71st minute), Saba Lobjanidze (substituted by Luke Brennan at the 88th minute), and Daniel Ríos (substituted by Jamal Thiaré at the 71st minute). Unused substitutes for Montréal included Sebastian Breza, Ilias Iliadis, Dominic Iankov, and Ousman Jabang.

The match concluded with a score of CF Montréal defeating Atlanta United 1-0. The only goal was scored in the 51st minute by Ruan with an assist from Edwards.

Disciplinary actions during the match included a yellow card for Stian Gregersen of Atlanta United in the 38th minute. Raheem Edwards of CF Montréal received a yellow card in the 53rd minute. Gregersen also received a second yellow card followed by a red card in the 55th minute.

Key roster notes include Ronald Hernández making his fourth MLS start of this season and Daniel Ríos starting as striker. Ríos has contributed six goals in as many matches for Atlanta United since joining on loan from Chivas. Saba Lobjanidze and Jamal Thiaré are tied with Ríos for five goals each this season.
