ATLANTA – State Representative Beth Camp (R-Concord) has revealed the members of the House Energy, Utilities and Telecommunications Ad Hoc Committee on Community Solar. The committee includes State Representatives John Carson (R-Marietta), Karla Drenner (D-Avondale Estates), Joseph Gullet (R-Dallas), Jordan Ridley (R-Woodstock), Ruwa Romman (D-Duluth), Brad Thomas (R-Holly Springs), Regina Lewis-Ward (D-McDonough), and Bill Werkheiser (R-Glennville).
"I’m excited to work with my House colleagues to address the growing developments surrounding community solar in Georgia," expressed Chair Camp. "The industry’s rapid growth presents us with the opportunity to take a deep dive into sustainable energy solutions for Georgia’s communities, focusing on technology, economic development and environmental stewardship."
Camp emphasized the importance of the committee's role in shaping the future of solar energy in Georgia, stating, "This committee will play a pivotal role in paving the way for a more sustainable future for Georgia’s solar energy sector."

The creation of the Community Solar Ad Hoc Committee stemmed from Chair Camp’s introduction of House Bill 1152, known as the Georgia Homegrown Solar Act of 2024, during this year’s legislative session.
