The upcoming 2025 All-Star Game is scheduled to be held at Truist Park in Atlanta, as recently announced by Major League Baseball (MLB) Commissioner Rob Manfred. In 2021, the All-Star Game planned at Truist Park was relocated due to Georgia's voting law and took place at Coors Field in Colorado that year.
A press release from the MLB quoted Commissioner Rob Manfred saying, "I commend Terry McGuirk, Derek Schiller, the entire Braves organization and the Atlanta Sports Council for leading this effort. As a model of success on and off the field, the Braves deserve to host the All-Star Game. Truist Park and The Battery Atlanta will provide fans a world-class experience in 2025. We look forward to working with the Braves and local leaders to deliver a memorable All-Star Week that brings people together and benefits the community in many ways."
As reported by Fox News, Atlanta lost hosting rights for the event in 2021 due to political outrage over Georgia's election laws. This decision was linked with Georgia's Election Integrity Act of 2021, which introduced new mail voting restrictions, voter ID requirements, limited ballot drop boxes and extended early voting.
Fox News also reported that in 2021, Commissioner Manfred mentioned that Atlanta might become an option for future events if certain changes were made according to reports from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
According to another report from Fox News, state election officials in Georgia reported a record-breaking number of pre-Election Day ballots cast in a midterm election which contradicts assertions from leading Democrats about state's election law suppressing voters.
As per WSB TV report, The Braves had earlier hosted the All-Star Game at Fulton County Stadium in 1972 and later at Turner Field in 2000.
