APD Officers Render Aid to Gunshot Victim With Tourniquet


On Sunday, July 31st, 2022, at approximately 12:13AM, Atlanta Police responded to a call of a person shot at 361 17th St. NW. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim with an apparent gunshot wound to the shoulder. 

Officers were able to quickly apply a tourniquet to the victim’s arm before EMS arrived. The victim advised officers that he believes the shooting was related to a possible road rage incident between himself and another driver that escalated to shots fired along I-85SB. 

The victim was transported to a local hospital alert, conscious, and breathing for further medical attention. Investigators with the Aggravated Assault Unit are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
