An Ohio-based international consumer products company has announced plans to further invest in Georgia by building a new plant and creating hundreds of new job opportunities in the process.
Proctor & Gamble has decided to invest $205 million for a new plant in the city of Jackson, a recent FOX 5 Atlanta news report said.
"It says a lot when household names like Procter & Gamble repeatedly choose Georgia to do business," Kemp said in a statement, quoted by FOX 5. "My administration has been laser-focused on creating jobs and opportunities in rural Georgia, and I am confident that hardworking Georgians in Butts County, at the Georgia Ports Authority, and along every other step of the way will make sure Proctor & Gamble's products get out the door and to the market."
Proctor & Gamble already has a distribution center in Metro Atlanta and a manufacturing facility in Albany, the FOX 5 report said.
The new automated distribution facility is slated to span more than 1 million square feet and employ approximately 350 people once construction is completed, the report said.
Bounty paper towels, Always feminine hygiene products, Charmin toilet paper, Crest toothpaste and Gillette razors are just a few of the product brands the company distributes, the report said.
