Fulton County issued the following announcement on Jan. 13.

The Fulton County Board of Commissioners will consider 2022 redistricting at their January 19 recess meeting. Redistricting is required to ensure equitable distribution throughout the six geographic districts, based on population growth reflected during the 2020 Census.

The Board of Commissioners is expected to provide a map for recommendation to the Fulton County legislative delegation. Ultimately the Georgia General Assembly will adopt the geographic boundaries. Changes will take effect beginning with the May 2022 Primary Election.

Fulton County residents are invited to participate in a public hearing during the January 19 Board of Commissioners meeting to provide input.
