Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT) will present a business seminar Oct.19 in partnership with the Rome Floyd Chamber of Commerce and Rome UGA Small Business Center.
The Georgia DOT shared a link on Twitter Wednesday to a press release about the seminar entitled “Learn How Business Certifications Can Help You Grow Your Business”.
The virtual seminar will take place on Tuesday from 9:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. in Rome.
Attendees will learn about the best practices to secure federal, state and local contracts as a prime or subcontractor, with an emphasis placed on small business, the release states.
Additional topics of discussion will include how to be successful with government contracting, the various types of certification and the advantages of each as well as best practices for small to midsize government contractors.
According to the release, Menelik R. Alleyne, Georgia DOT assistant administrator of external programs, also will address how companies should position themselves to pursue contracts with Georgia DOT.
