One is a center with experience and two-way skill, the other is a guard who has size and an ability to play with and off the ball.
Center Gorgui Dieng and guard Delon Wright have the Atlanta Hawks excited, a team-issued press release said.
Hawks general manager Travis Schlenk said in the release that Dieng can fill the void in the middle left by Dewayne Dedmon, as the Louisville product is touted capable of producing the same type of results as Dedmon did from 2017 to 2019.
Hawks head coach Nate McMillan said in the release that Wright’s versatility is a plus.
"I love his versatility," McMillan said, "and his ability to play with the ball and play off the ball. He's a big guard. He can defend as well as initiate."
The Hawks return every player from team that fell two wins short of from reaching NBA Finals last season.
Headlining the 11 coming back is All-Star Trae Young, who’ll enter his fourth season as a pro.
"There has been a lot of chatter and stuff throughout the offseason, and not a lot of it has been about us,” Young said in the release. "We all heard about it. We're very eager to go out there and play and have fun and try to shock the world again."
